I have over 20 years of therapeutic experience supporting children, families and individuals. My style is warm and informal and I provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their emotions and tap into their “True Self.”
As a trauma-focused therapist and an EMDR Certified Therapist ™ , I specialize in treating both “big T” and “small “t” trauma, including childhood abuse and attachment wounds. I have advanced training through Postpartum Support International and BRIA (for perimenopause/menopause), as well as training from Warrior Health to support First Responders and their families.
I am also an EMDR Consultant in Training (CIT) and I deeply enjoy supporting and guiding consultees looking to enhance their basic training, become certified in EMDR or simply to expand their EMDR knowledge base and experience.
I use an integrative approach and I am informed by the following modalities; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Structural Dissociation, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Irrespective of the modality used, I believe that all therapy should be rooted in a client-therapist relationship that is characterized by warmth, acceptance and trust.
I am highly influenced by attachment science and trauma research and I obtain inspiration from the healing powers of connection and emotional security. I am committed to staying current on research and evidence-based treatments and I engage in ongoing psychotherapy training.
I view psychotherapy as an art that involves the “meeting of two minds”. I am committed to helping my clients make the changes they seek and I feel honoured to witness the shifts that occur in their lives.
